Amy Lind, B.A., LL.B.

Amy Lind is a senior associate at Liberty Law. In 2008 she completed her undergraduate degree with a double major in psychology and sociology (with distinction), before commencing her Bachelor of Laws that fall. In 2011 she completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Alberta, joined Liberty Law, and was called to the Bar in July of 2012.

A Focus On Criminal Law And Advocacy

During law school Amy focused on criminal law and advocacy, including an independent research paper that combined her interest in youth crime and her background in sociology. She showed an immense interest and aptitude for criminal law, winning both the prestigious Juris Radze Award for outstanding academic achievement in advanced criminal law and the graduating award for criminal law. Her passion and dedication to superior advocacy has extended to her practice of law. In 2016, she won the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association Top Gunn award, honoring a junior lawyer whom exhibits excellence in the field of criminal defence.

AMY HAS SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDED CASES IN ALL LEVELS OF COURT INCLUDING THE ALBERTA COURT OF APPEAL AND THE SUPREME COURT OF CANADA

Amy’s experience and interests range from minor youth charges to serious cases such as drug trafficking and homicides. She has successfully conducted numerous Jury trials, where her poise and preparation has convinced 12 members of jury to acquit her client.

Amy’s experience extends beyond the courtroom. She has been both a guest lecturer and co-teacher at the University of Alberta Law school. Her expertise has been sought for numerous panels and conferences on criminal law, and for Alberta Prime Time (TV). Amy is reliable, dedicated and not afraid to speak out. These skills have led her to represent the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association on a provincial bail committee, and at a stakeholders meeting on domestic violence, at police training and mock cross examinations, and on court business resumption conferences. She is trusted mentor to our junior associates.
