Our client was the Chief of a First Nation. During an election campaign, a band member reported to the RCMP that our client had sexually assaulted her on various occasions over the course of many years. Our client acknowledged a consensual relationship many years earlier, but denied any sexual assault. Investigation uncovered evidence that some of the allegations were impossible and others were implausible. Our client was found not guilty after trial.
