Our client was a divorced father with addictions issues, sharing custody of his son with the child’s mother for years. When the mother of the child entered into a relationship with a man in another province, the child wanted to move with his mother to live with the new boyfriend. The parenting order from Family Court prevented the mother and son from moving out of the province. The son then made a sexual assault allegation against our client, allowing him to move with his mother. The case went to trial, and a jury found our client not guilty.
